As Arvo Pärt's composition is strictly ordered around a center, our work, SpiegellegeipS (MirrorrorriM),
revolves around a physical as well as an imaginary center.
In being, in searching, in the inward as well as outward movement, in the interplay with musicians and the
mutual approaching/entering, the two dancers encounter their mirror images, their reflections. They mirror
experience and encounter themselves at the end - a self which contains the other. The spectator, depending on their own individual situations, will either perceive the you or the me. The work is about the encounter with the self and remaining true to oneself, in the search and in the encounter, but also it is about getting involved.
Since the music is the starting point and since it plays an important role in giving form and providing content,
the work is presented with musicians. This allows us to celebrate the theme of the work anew each time, and
the performance also gains a deeper local anchoring.
